Amber VOA

Amber was raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and her childhood was filled with animals. She has many fond memories of all the family’s pets, including dogs, fish, and birds. From a very young age, she knew she would always take care of animals and was thrilled when she discovered in her teens that she could make a career out of working with them.

Her journey in veterinary medicine began in 2010 after she graduated as a Veterinary Office Assistant. She started her career working at a large boarding and daycare facility for dogs and cats, where she was able to care for many animals while studying their behaviors, unique personalities, and traits—a subject she was passionate about in school. After a few years, she joined a veterinary hospital as a veterinary assistant, gaining several years of experience in all aspects of running a clinic.

Amber’s favorite part about working in a clinic is that no two days are the same, and every day is an opportunity to learn something new and exciting. When she is not in the clinic, you will likely find her off on an adventure with her family and dogs or reading a good book.
